Frequently Asked Questions

What type of sealant does Go Green Exteriors use?

We use an oil based, high grade commercial, sealant called Black Mac (Liquid Asphalt).

How does sealing help my asphalt?

Sealing acts like a shield for your asphalt. It covers tiny surface voids and cracks, protects from UV ray exposure and reduces the possibility of gas or oil penetrating your asphalt. It’s also great waterproofing material.

Will sealing my asphalt leave it looking shiny or slippery?

We apply 100% Black Mac to your asphalt. It has not been diluted with any by products. Therefore your asphalt will always dry a matte finish while holding its integrity. No slips on your property.

How long should I stay off the asphalt once it has been sealed?

Allow 24 hours of drying time before walking on the asphalt and 48 hours before parking on it.

How frequently should my asphalt be sealed?

For best results, seal your asphalt every 1 to 2 years.

What will happen if it rains after my asphalt is sealed?

Liquid asphalt is hydrophobic. Rain will bead on to the surface of your sealed asphalt and run off, without carrying any sealant away.

How long should I wait to seal new asphalt?

It is recommended that newly paved asphalt sit for at least 6 – 12 months before being sealed.
