What is asphalt sealing and Why do it?

The naturally occurring oxidation of asphalt is constantly eroding it, leaving it vulnerable to our extreme hot and cold seasons. Asphalt will shift and move when freezing and thawing occurs. Aged, gray, brittle asphalt may begin to crack and heave as a consequence of this. In addition, the chemicals it may come in contact with, such as road salt, gasoline, engine oil and transmission fluid, will further accelerate the deterioration process. These occurrences will inevitably lead to crack formation, heaving, pot holes and a hefty bill for a replacement.

To avert this, it is recommended that asphalt be treated annually with a high quality commercial sealant in order to return to it, its natural oils and protective properties. Once sealed, asphalt is better guarded against degrading UV rays, moisture infiltration, and will stand up better to tough Canadian weather. Sealing and preventative maintenance will not only prolong the lifespan of your asphalt, it will also up keep the look and value of your home and mitigate safety hazards on your commercial property.

Last summer David knocked on my door asking if I would like the driveway sprayed. I was not prepared at the time but I took his contact info. This summer I am ready to do it and called David about a month ago. I booked the service. On the day of the service appointment, David and George arrived on time and started their work. I was not home at the time to watch them so I cannot say much about their process. When I came home the job was already done. I can say that the paint was sprayed very evenly and the driveway looks pretty. The job was clean. There were no messy dirt lying around or over-spray that I can see. A very clean and professional job as far as I can tell. They were courteous and I felt comfortable dealing with them. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

The crew was polite, few the driveway properly and were very organized. I did mention to them that I wanted the crack between the garage cement floor and the driveway filled with asphalt sealer. They were not responsive on this issue. It would have only involved. a small amount of extra asphalt sealer.

Highly recommended. They did a great job cleaning up my driveway before they started, and their spray was even, no overspray or imperfections of any kind. That same night we had a lot of rain which washed some dirt onto the driveway. A quick call and the guys came back and re-sprayed the affected areas, even though it wasn't their fault. Very professional, they kept their word and backed up their work.
